Symposium: J.W. Power Abstraction-Création Paris 1934

The Power institute is proud to announce a major syposium to accompany the recreation exhibition of J.W. Power's 1934 Paris solo exhibition, set to open at the University Art Gallery 24 of September. 

Join the curators Ann Stephen and A.D.S. Donaldson with guest speaker Sarah Wilson from the Courtauld Institute of the University of London, for an in-depth exploration of the cultural and aesthetic context of 1930s Europe and of John Power as a Parisian artist and thinker.


2pm: A.D.S. Donaldson and Ann Stephen co-curators J.W. Power: Abstraction-Création, Paris 1934.

Keynote: Sarah Wilson Professor of history of modern and contemporary art, Courtauld Institute of Art, University of London.

A reception will be held at the conclusion of the symposium in the Schaeffer Library, RC Mills Building.
