Language and Identity Research Network

About the network

The Language and Identity Research Network brings together a range of key researchers with shared interests in aspects of linguistics and identity, working across the School of Languages and Cultures, the School of Letters, Arts and Media and the Faculty of Education and Social Work. Although the researchers work from different traditions, they form an emerging research strength in the area of language and identity.

Objectives

The goal of the Language and Identity Research Network is to formalise and extend existing collaborative projects, grant applications and HDR supervision as well as to enhance current and future research through presentations and discussions. In 2012, the network will organise a series of workshops as well as a symposium in November. Following from the symposium, network members aim to produce an edited volume showcasing their wide-ranging research in language and identity.
