Biographical details

Peter Morgan is Director of the European Studies program at the University of Sydney. Recent publications include Ismail Kadare: The Writer and the Dictatorship 1957-1990 (Oxford: Legenda, 2010, Albanian translation 2011, paperback re-issue 2013), “Coming out in Weimar: Crisis and Homosexuality in the Weimar Republic” (Thesis 11, 2012), "Ismail Kadare e l'orientalismo Albanese" (Alessandro Scarsella, e Giuseppina Turano, eds. La scrittura obliqua di Ismail Kadare,Venezia: Granviale Editori, 2012); and "Translating the World: Literature and Re-Connection from Goethe to Gao,” Revue de Littérature comparée (2013). Current research and writing interests include Ismail Kadare in the post-communist context, German literature and national identity and the emergence of male homosexual identity in the European modernist novel.
