Prof Glenda Sluga (History) receives Research Mentoring Award
22 October, 2012
The Department of History’s Professor Glenda Sluga has been awarded one of the two Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences' Research Mentoring awards announced for 2012.
The Faculty’s Research Committee has launched a new award to honour outstanding academics within the Faculty who have demonstrated a sustained commitment to peer mentoring, with special attention given to fostering and developing their colleagues’ research careers. The award is made through a process of nomination by at least three members of academic staff who have benefitted directly from mentoring by the nominee.
The Research Committee received a number of strong nomination packages, signalling the quality and excellence of research mentoring that occurs both formally and informally across the Faculty.
Congratulations to Glenda, who will receive her award at a Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Awards Ceremony in November, when recipients will be formally recognised for their achievements.
