About Ambassador Stéphane Romatet
Stephane Romatet has commenced his duty as Ambassador of France to Australia on November 2011. Australia is his first ambassadorial appointment. He has previously served in a range of different countries, Jordan, Senegal and Canada ans held several postings in Paris, in the ministry of Defence and in the ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Before coming to Australia, he was Deputy-Secretary in the MFA in charge of corporate and management. He also worked as Principal adviser to the minister of Defence and as chief of staff of the minister of Foreign Affairs. He holds a MA in public law, a MA in political science and is graduated from the Ecole Nationale d'Administration. He is Knight in the French national order of the Legion d'Honneur.
