Biographical details

Gareth Bryant is a Lecturer in Political Economy at The University of Sydney. His research explores the marketisation of different areas of socio-ecological life, with a current focus on climate/energy and education policy. Gareth’s research has been published in a range of journals including Environment and Planning A: Economy and Space, Antipode, Energy Policy, the Annals of the American Association of Geographers and New Political Economy. His forthcoming book, titled Carbon Markets in a Climate-Changing Capitalism, will be published by Cambridge University Press. Gareth was awarded the Global Network for Financial Geography (FINGEO) dissertation prize and the Australian International Political Economy Network (AIPEN) journal article prize. He co-edits the online blog Progress in Political Economy (PPE), for which he was jointly awarded the Special Achievement prize from the the Online Media Caucus of the International Studies Association (ISA).
