Dr Bruce Isaacs
Dr Bruce Isaacs is a Lecturer in Film Studies within the Department of Film Studies and Art History at the University of Sydney. He has published widely on film history and theory, and is a member of the Sydney Film Festival’s Advisory Committee. Dr Isaacs’ latest book, The Orientation of Future Cinema: Technology, Aesthetics, Spectacle (2013), examines the shift from celluloid film to digital film. He is also author of the book Toward a New Film Aesthetic (2008). A specialist in film aesthetics and the evolution of American cinema, his research interests include the subversion of genre, realism and spectacle, and auteur theory.
