Dr Jane Park
Dr Jane Chi Hyun Park is a senior lecturer in the Department of Gender and Cultural Studies and the U.S. Studies Centre at the University of Sydney. Her research and teaching are concerned with the social uses of media technologies, the cultural impact of minority representations, and transnational flows of film, music and television. Her first book, Yellow Future: Oriental Style in Hollywood Cinema (University of Minnesota Press, 2010) traces the rising visibility of technologized images of East Asia on the big screen and the ways in which this visibility is linked to shifting ideas about race, gender and identity in the US. She is currently working on her next book project, which looks at the globalisation of Korean film and media through crossovers and remakes.
