David Marr’s most recent book is Political Animal, The Making of Tony Abbott. He is the multi-award winning author of Patrick White: A life and The High Price of Heaven, and was co-author with Marian Wilkinson of Dark Victory. He has written for The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and The Monthly, been editor of the National Times, a reporter for Four Corners and presenter of ABC TV’s Media Watch.
In 2010 he wrote the Quarterly Essay Power Trip: The political journey of Kevin Rudd and in 2011 Panic. David serves on the board of Sydney Writers’ Festival. He is an alumnus of the University of Sydney’s Bachelor of Arts/Law degree.
