Pip Smith is a writer and organiser of writing-related events. Since 2008 she has been running Sydney-based fiction event Penguin Plays Rough for which she edited and published an anthology of selected works in 2011. In 2012 she co-directed the National Young Writers’ Festival, and over the summer of 2012–13 she was the inaugural resident summer poet for The Lifted Brow. She is currently a doctoral candidate with UWS Writing and Society Research Centre, and is teaching herself guitar.
