Pedagogic and Curriculum Design Services
eLearning, when appropriately blended with face-to-face learning, is a significant tool for enriching the student experience and prepares graduates to be creative participants in modern society and workplaces where interactive multimedia technologies are now widely used.
Arts eLearning is a critical part of the Arts Teaching & Learning Network which provides strategic leadership and management for the enhancement of teaching and learning in the Faculty.
Arts eLearning’s mission is organized around two main areas of activity:
- The provision of guidance and support in the pedagogical design and development of blended learning in the five Schools of the Faculty. For example this includes: getting started with eLearning, selecting effective blended learning activities for particular contexts, using the appropriate technical tools, etc., and
- The conduct of research in blended learning and its impact on student learning and pedagogical practice. For example this includes: analysis of student evaluation data, involvement of each Arts eLearning staff member in eLearning research projects, provision of extensive information on the latest publications and innovations in eLearning and assistance in the development of grant applications and publications in learning & teaching and eLearning.
