The Writing Hub runs seminars and workshops to promote discussion and reflection about approaches to rhetoric and writing within the University and the broader community. Through open interchange about approaches to teaching and communicating, we can broaden interdisciplinary knowledge and ideas.

"How I Write" Seminar

Wednesday, 29 May 2013

Please join us in the Writing Hub for our inaugural “How I Write” Seminar. Our guest speaker will be Dr Anne Surma from Murdoch University. Anne’s research focuses on ethical, imaginative, and discursive approaches to professional and public communication, particularly written modes. In recent work she has been adapting theories of critical cosmopolitanism to reflect on corporate, government and community writing practices in the context of globalisation. Anne has published two books: Imagining the Cosmopolitan in Public and Professional Writing (Palgrave 2012) and Public and Professional Writing: Ethics, Imagination and Rhetoric (Palgrave 2005). In this seminar, she will discuss her latest book, as well as her writing process.

When: Wednesday, 29 May at 4 pm, with drinks and refreshments to follow.

Where: Writing Hub Common Room, Old Teachers’ College (A22), Room 330
