Writing Support for Coursework
Have you ever had a great idea, tried to write it down and it just doesn't come out right? Or, you work so hard on your essay that you get so close to it and can't tell the difference between brilliant and boring?
We think that collaboration and conversation are crucial tools in the writing process as these help to clarify your ideas or identify your strengths and weaknesses with structure and argument. We can help you at every stage of the writing process, from interpreting essay questions and developing ideas, to understanding how to legitimately integrate information and reference the sources on which you rely.
Our drop-in sessions are an opportunity for you to receive individualised feedback on your essay drafts and ideas. We can help you invent arguments, refine your ideas and reflect on ways to improve your writing so you can engage your reader and reach your potential. This service is available to all undergraduate students in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and students from other faculties enrolled in Writing Hub Undergraduate Units of Study.
Our Staff and Student Writing Fellows are trained in the pedagogy of academic writing. We can help you better understand your own writing process and develop effective strategies for communicating in the future.
Our writing support service begins in week 4 each semester.
