Units of study

Units of study offered through the Bioethics Program can be taken by students enrolled at the University of Sydney in postgraduate degree programs other than bioethics, students pursuing degrees at other universities, and students not currently enrolled in a degree program (including those who do not intend to enroll in such a program). Some units of study are only available to students in a research stream.



Core Unit of Study

These units provide a essential knowledge within and of the field of Bioethics.



Foundational Units of Study

These units provide interdisciplinary grounding in relevant fields of study.


Elective Units of Study

These units provide in-depth learning in areas of special importance in Bioethics.



Research Project Units of Study

These units of study are only available to students in research stream of the Masters degree.

These units involve directed research and the writing of a thesis on a topic of special interest to the student. They are only available to students enrolled in the Master of Bioethics degree, completing a research stream. Completion of these units provides experience required for further postgraduate study (i.e. Ph.D.).
