Biographical details

Dr Simon Lewis is an NHMRC Practitioner Fellow who works as a Consultant Neurologist at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and is Associate Professor in Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Sydney. He is the Director of the Parkinson's Disease Research Clinic at the Brain & Mind Research Institute and heads the NSW Movement Disorders Brain Donor program. He has published over 50 peer review papers, 2 books and 2 book chapters and has attracted funding from the NHMRC, ARC and Michael J Fox Foundation to support his research interests targeting quality of life in PD. In addition to this research, he sits on the Council of Parkinson's NSW. He recently led the nationwide 'DASH to the InfoLine' campaign aiming to raise awareness and reduce stigma in PD and is now heading the first trial to evaluate community based Parkinson's nurse specialists in Australia.
