Research interests

Professor Patricia Armati is also Founder, Co-Director and Vice President of the Nerve Research Foundation. She was a Board member of the Internation Peripheral Nerve Society 2005-2009 and the Advisory Board until 2011, and is a member of the Advisory Committe of the Institute of Neuromuscular Research, Westmead Childrens Hospital. She was a member the Editorial Board of the Journal of the Peripheral Nervous System until 2011 and is currently on the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Neurolipids and the International Scholarly Research Network (ISRN) - Neurology. Her research Interests are Neuroscience, particularly neuroglial cells, developmental neuroscience, tissue culture models and genetic analysis related particularly to Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimers disease and peripheral neuropathies. She is also interested in the neural mechanisms underlying low level laser therapy for neuropathic pain
