Biographical details
Steven Meikle is Professor of Medical Imaging Physics within the Discipline of Medical Radiation Sciences at the University of Sydney. He is also Co-Director of the Ramaciotti Imaging Centre at the Brain and Mind Research Institute, which is a node of the NCRIS-funded National Imaging Facility. He received his Bachelor of Applied Physics degree (Hons 1 and the University Medal) from the University of Technology, Sydney in 1988 and his Ph.D. degree from the Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering, University of New South Wales in 1995. He was a medical physicist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney (1987-2004), a visiting research associate at the Division of Nuclear Medicine and Biophysics, UCLA School of Medicine in Los Angeles (1991-2) and a post doctoral research scientist at the MRC Cyclotron Unit, Hammersmith Hospital in London (1995-6) before joining the University of Sydney in 2004.
