Faculty alumna appointed new QBE Chairman 01 Jul 2010
Faculty of Economics and Business alumna, Ms Belinda Hutchinson (BEc '76), will this week officially commence her position as Chair of QBE Insurance.
Faculty of Economics and Business alumna and President of Rowing at Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness, Jane Spring, (BEc Hons '86, LLB '89, MPAdmin '07, Hon Fellow '08) has been awarded the Rusty Robertson MBE Award at the Rowing NSW Annual Presentation Dinner.
The Master of Management program run through the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Sydney sees their students working on 'real-life' projects which aims to encourage students from South West Sydney to attend university in greater numbers.

The diverse group of high-performing managers came together in Sydney for the first of five two-week intensive residential courses - to be run over the next 18 months - and were immediately given the opportunity to explore the concept of leadership from a number of different perspectives.
An outstanding diverse group of high performing managers form the inaugural Global Executive MBA cohort will get their hands on real life projects over the next 18 months and develop their skills as future leaders.
Director of Access Economics*, Chris Richardson, presented his thoughts on the reasons behind the Global Economic Crisis and the long term implications for Australia at the annual Faculty of Economics and Business alumni dinner.

Faculty Alumni, James Castrission (BCom '04) and his best mate, Justin Jones, achieved a world first in January 2008 after paddling 3318km, unsupported, in their kayak across the Tasman Sea from the NSW coast to New Zealand. They recently shared tales from their amazing adventures with current student, staff and corporate partners at an event on the University of Sydney campus.
A highlight of the 2009 Spring Back to Sydney Alumni Reunion held at The University of Sydney on Saturday 19 September, was the "New Perspectives on Contemporary Leadership" lecture given by Associate Professor Richard Hall, one of the two facilitators of the Leadership Module for the new Global Executive MBA.
