The RJ Chambers Memorial Research Lecture

The RJ Chambers Memorial Research Lecture has been hosted by the Accounting Foundation and The University of Sydney Business School since 1985 and is held in memory of Raymond John Chambers (1917-1999). Chambers was educated in Newcastle, NSW, Australia, before being awarded a scholarship to study economics at The University of Sydney, where he graduated in 1939. The first full-time lecturer in accounting at The University of Sydney, he was appointed to the University's foundation Chair of Accounting in 1960, a position he held till his retirement in 1983.

In 2014, the R J Chambers Memorial Research Lecture was delivered by Professor Michael Power, London School of Economics, UK on the topic of "Risk culture in financial organisations". Following the lecture Mr Charles Littrell, Executive General Manager, APRA provided commentary.
