Research in the Community
The University of Sydney Business School is actively involved in pursuing research projects with the wider community, both in Australia and overseas. Below is an example of our most recent engagement efforts.
Research in Cambodia
The University of Sydney Business School successfully bid for an AUSAID Asia Public Sector Linkages Program Grant to train teachers to teach female entrepreneurship at The University of Battambang, Cambodia (UBB) and The University of Economics & Business, Vietnam National University, Vietnam (UEB-VNU). Our program is based on extensive consultation with our overseas teaching & academic colleagues, an approach which we will pursue throughout the entire project. Focussing on female entrepreneurs comes at a timely point in Vietnam and Cambodian socio-cultural and economic development.
As part of the ongoing project, the team developed and implemented tailored curriculum for local students and academics in Vietnam and Cambodia, while engaging in outreach programs to help forge stronger bonds between industry, faculty, students and alumni.
These activities helped to strengthen the entrepeneurial capabilities and business skills of local women in Camodia and Vietnam, while also building upon the educational capability of The University of Battambang, Cambodia and The University of Economics & Business, Vietnam National University, Vietnam.
