Description IBUS4103 is a seminar required of students undertaking their Honours year in International Business. The seminar builds on the work in IBUS4101 and considers selected issues of current importance in the field, including work related to the research of members of the discipline and recently published cases. In addition, topics may be adjusted to reflect student interests and needs. Because of the focus on current issues, the research of members of the discipline, and the interests of current students, topics covered will vary from year to year. We would normally expect to deal with current issues in the following areas: (i)The link between firm structure and international strategy; (ii) Analysis of changes in the international operating environment; (iii) Current studies of entry modes and alliances; (iv) Issues in international risk management; (v) Issues in cross cultural management; (vi) Ethical issues in international management. In addition to in-class discussion, the seminar will require a series of short papers analysing works of particular interest to individual students. Candidates must enrol in IBUS4101, IBUS4102, IBUS4103, and IBUS4104 to complete the Honours year.
