| Description | Information governance is a major business imperative in the digital information society, as the volume, velocity and variety of information grows. Designing and implementing an effective information governance program to improve business operations and decision-making, to protect critical and sensitive information and to meet audit, litigation and compliance obligations involves multiple stakeholders and encompasses different information formats, technologies and domains. This unit of study examines the different stakeholders, standards, processes, technologies, methods and tools required in information governance. It covers a wide range of applications including the development of a business case, assessing current information needs and requirements, establishing standards and policies, as well as developing the necessary capabilities for effective information governance. |
