Prizes Awarded by the University of Sydney Business School

Each year a number of prizes are awarded to students in the University of Sydney Business School on the basis of outstanding performance in their completed unit(s) of study. Prize winners and their future employers have commented on the enormous value of a seeing a prize appear on a University transcript - the ultimate testament to excellent performance at the University.

Many prizes have long histories and have their origins as bequests left to the Business School. This brings a sense of tradition and prestige to the awards. Other prizes have stemmed from newer associations with some of our most valued industry partners.

We would like to thank the generous donors and supporters of our awards, which allows us to publicly recognise outstanding performance by our students.

What is a Business School Prize?

A prize is defined as an award in recognition of outstanding performance, academic achievement or service. (Academic Board Scholarships Policy from 2005).

Prizes are awarded via a single payment and are based on academic merit in completed units of study (this can range from a single piece of coursework to an entire year of study). No application is required. In addition, prizes can be conditional, they still follow the same criteria however they include a condition of higher study (postgraduate study or Honours) or enrolment into specific units of study. In order to be eligible to receive a prize, recipients must be enrolled in one of the Business School degrees.

Following completion of an academic year, Scholarship recipients may also be eligible to receive a prize.
