The University of Sydney Business School Undergraduate Scholarships 2015

The University of Sydney Business School produces outstanding graduates who take up leading positions in business, government, academia and the not-for-profit sector. Our scholarships are more than just financial assistance. They are recognition of an individual's talent and hard work and can be an integral step towards a fulfilling career.

Many of the Business School scholarships are enhanced by links with sponsorship partners in the business, alumni and the wider University community. Other scholarships are sponsored by individuals, corporations and valued members of our alumni network.

Important information for school leavers

The Business School's scholarship program is tailored to supporting the special needs of students who are high achievers with strong personal attributes who lead in our community, in academic study and varied areas of extracurricular activities, such as, sport, fundraising, mentoring and public speaking. The program also assists those high achieving students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Students with a demonstrated interest in business will be at an advantage in the selection process.

Westbrook and Jessie Anstice International Travel Scholarship

The Westbrook and Jessie Anstice International Travel Scholarship was established in 2009 by a joint donation from alumnus David Anstice and the University of Sydney Business School.

The Scholarship is valued at $5,000 to assist with travel expenses to an overseas seminar or conference to encourage students to advance learning of their own initiative in the areas of international business, innovation or entrepreneurship.

The scholarship is open to international and local, undergraduate coursework, undergraduate honours and postgraduate coursework students enrolled in a full time coursework program with the University of Sydney Business School at the time of the seminar or conference participation.

Dean's Scholarship for Remote and Rural Enterprise

The University of Sydney Business School is pleased to offer support and some financial assistance for student participation in the Remote and Rural Enterprise (RARE) program.

The Dean's Scholarship for Remote and Rural Enterprise is valued at $2000.
Up to four places will be awarded in 2014.

The scholarship is open to local and international, postgraduate coursework students who have been selected for a place in The RARE Program. The scholarship recognizes candidates with sound academic performances in the Business School, who can also demonstrate an aptitude for cultural awareness, community development and sustainability and entrepreneurial capabilities.

University of Sydney Business School Continuing Undergraduate Merit Scholarship

In 2015, the University of Sydney Business School is pleased to offer the Continuing Undergraduate Merit Scholarships to candidates of exceptional academic note.

All undergraduate students at the University of Sydney Business School in continuing study will have an opportunity to receive scholarship assistance and recognition, based on an outstanding academic performance in their University studies.

The University of Sydney Business School will award 12 scholarship places to continuing international and local, coursework or honours students. Students are eligible when they have completed at least one year of a full time coursework degree (48 credit points) in the academic year 2014, are top ranking and undertaking a standard full time enrolment load in a degree under the administration of the Business School; or honours year specializing in a business discipline in 2015.

The scholarships are valued at $6000 for one year.
No application is required.

University of Sydney Business School Student Exchange Travel Scholarships 2015

The University of Sydney Business School is offering up to 50 scholarships to students participating in the University of Sydney Exchange Program in 2015.

The Travel Scholarships are offered to local and international, undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled with the University of Sydney Business School in one of the School's administered coursework programs and intending to study overseas through the University of Sydney exchange program.

Students should also be enrolled full-time and meeting degree requirements of their undergraduate or postgraduate award course during their exchange session. Students are required to meet the usual regulations that apply to the exchange program through the Exchange Unit, International Student Office.

The Student Exchange Travel Scholarships are valued at $2000 each. Up to 50 scholarships are available in 2015. Selection is based in academic merit (weighted average mark in coursework program). No application is required.

Each year, the University of Sydney Business School will admit a number of students to its Bachelor of Commerce program through the Inspired by Business Program. Each student admitted under this program will receive financial support valued at $10,000 per year for the three years of the degree.

The University of Sydney Business School in partnership with the Wesley College Foundation (WCF), St Andrew's College, the Women's College and Sancta Sophia College will award an Indigenous Australian Scholarship to support an Australian Indigenous student who is studying in the Business School and residing at either Wesley College, St. Andrew's College, the Women's College or Sancta Sophia College. Valued at $6,000 per annum for up to four years as a grant OR covering residential college fees at one of the partner Residential Colleges (excluding the Women’s College).

Dean's Undergraduate Scholarship (International)

The Business School is offering a generous scholarship opportunity to those commencing international students who will undertake their undergraduate degree at the University of Sydney Business School.

The 'Dean's Undergraduate Scholarship (International)' is a competitive entry level scholarship intended to assist high achieving international students with their transition to tertiary studies at the University of Sydney Business School. These merit based scholarships are awarded during overseas student recruitment trips. Students are also considered for these awards on completion of the University of Sydney Foundation Program.

Scholarships are valued at $5,000 (AUD) per annum for a maximum four years duration, whilst candidates are enrolled and studying an undergraduate degree under the administration of the Business School. Up to 12 scholarship places are available for award in 2015.

Undergraduate Scholarships - Honours

University of Sydney Honours Scholarships 2015

Honours Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit and personal attributes such as leadership and creativity.

In order to be eligible, the programme you are studying must have an additional year following the normal Bachelor degree. Please check with the relevant Faculty if you are unsure whether your course of study is considered to have an additional Honours year. Some Honours degrees do not include an additional year of study and are therefore not eligible for this scholarship.

Please note that, applications are open once a year only, irrespective of whether you intend to commence in the first or second semester.

You must be a local student (ie. Australian or New Zealand citizen, or permanent resident of Australia).

International students may apply for this scholarship only if undergraduate studies were undertaken at The University of Sydney.

The Discipline of Work and Organisational studies is proud of its long-standing relationship with Qantas Airways and is pleased to offer this distinguished scholarship opportunity once again in 2015, thanks to the generosity of Qantas.

The Qantas Honours Scholarship was established in 1996 by the offer of an annual donation by Qantas Airways and is awarded to a student proceeding to their final Honours year with the Discipline of Work and Organisational Studies. The recipient will have achieved academic excellence as measured by performance in their Bachelor¿¿¿s degree, with particular reference to achievement within the Industrial Relations major. The scholarship is offered on the recommendation of the Chair of Discipline, Work and Organisational Studies. No application is necessary.

The R.J. Chambers Honours Scholarship was established in 2003 by an offer of an annual donation from the Accounting Foundation and the Discipline of Accounting for the purpose of providing financial assistance to students undertaking the Honours Program within the Discipline of Accounting.

The Business School is offering a scholarship opportunity to undergraduate students commencing honours with the University of Sydney Business School in 2015.

The Phillip Noel Hartley Smith Distinguished Honours Scholarship is awarded on application and academic merit with a dissertation topic that focuses on 'business ethics' or 'business history'.

The scholarship is valued at $6,000 per annum and is tenable for one year.

Qantas Honours Scholarship

The Discipline of Work and Organisational studies is proud of its long-standing relationship with Qantas Airways and is pleased to offer this distinguished scholarship opportunity once again in 2015, thanks to the generosity of Qantas.

The Qantas Honours Scholarship was established in 1996 by the offer of an annual donation by Qantas Airways and is awarded to a student proceeding to their final Honours year with the Discipline of Work and Organisational Studies. The recipient will have achieved academic excellence as measured by performance in their Bachelor¿¿¿s degree, with particular reference to achievement within the Industrial Relations major. The scholarship is offered on the recommendation of the Chair of Discipline, Work and Organisational Studies. No application is necessary.

The scholarship is valued at $7500, tenable during the recipients honours year.

R.J. Chambers Honours Scholarship in Accounting

The R.J. Chambers Honours Scholarship was established in 2003 by an offer of an annual donation from the Accounting Foundation and the Discipline of Accounting for the purpose of providing financial assistance to students undertaking the Honours Program within the Discipline of Accounting.

The scholarships are valued up to $10,000.

Students are eligible for the awards when they have been successful in their admission to the Honours program under the specialisation of Accounting. No separate application is required. The scholarships are awarded on academic merit.

Robert R. Sterling Distinguished Honours Scholarship in Accounting

The scholarship established in perpetuity in 2008 from a generous donation from Mr. Robert R. Sterling and the University of Sydney Business School is intended to support academic study and investigation in the field of financial accounting.

Valued at a total $10,000, two instalments will be paid in the Recipient's honours year. Students are assessed for this award on their application to the Discipline of Accounting for admission into Accounting Honours. No separate application for this scholarship is required.

University of Sydney Business School Continuing Undergraduate Merit Scholarship

In 2015, the University of Sydney Business School is pleased to offer the Continuing Undergraduate Merit Scholarships to candidates of exceptional academic note.

All undergraduate students at the University of Sydney Business School in continuing study will have an opportunity to receive scholarship assistance and recognition, based on an outstanding academic performance in their University studies.

The University of Sydney Business School will award 12 scholarship places to continuing international and local, coursework or honours students. Students are eligible when they have completed at least one year of a full time coursework degree (48 credit points) in the academic year 2014, are top ranking and undertaking a standard full time enrolment load in a degree under the administration of the Business School; or honours year specializing in a business discipline in 2015.

The scholarships are valued at $6000 for one year.
No application is required.

The University of Sydney Business School and The University Colleges Joint Indigenous Australian Scholarship

The University of Sydney Business School in partnership with the Wesley College Foundation (WCF), St Andrew's College, the Women's College and Sancta Sophia College will award an Indigenous Australian Scholarship to support an Australian Indigenous student who is studying in the Business School and residing at either Wesley College, St. Andrew's College, the Women's College or Sancta Sophia College. Valued at $6,000 per annum for up to four years as a grant OR covering residential college fees at one of the partner Residential Colleges (excluding the Women’s College).

University of Sydney Business School Student Exchange Travel Scholarships 2015

The University of Sydney Business School is offering up to 50 scholarships to students participating in the University of Sydney Exchange Program in 2015.

The Travel Scholarships are offered to local and international, undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled with the University of Sydney Business School in one of the School's administered coursework programs and intending to study overseas through the University of Sydney exchange program.

Students should also be enrolled full-time and meeting degree requirements of their undergraduate or postgraduate award course during their exchange session. Students are required to meet the usual regulations that apply to the exchange program through the Exchange Unit, International Student Office.

The Student Exchange Travel Scholarships are valued at $2000 each. Up to 50 scholarships are available in 2015. Selection is based in academic merit (weighted average mark in coursework program). No application is required.

University of Sydney Honours Scholarships 2015

Honours Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit and personal attributes such as leadership and creativity.

In order to be eligible, the programme you are studying must have an additional year following the normal Bachelor degree. Please check with the relevant Faculty if you are unsure whether your course of study is considered to have an additional Honours year. Some Honours degrees do not include an additional year of study and are therefore not eligible for this scholarship.

Please note that, applications are open once a year only, irrespective of whether you intend to commence in the first or second semester.

You must be a local student (ie. Australian or New Zealand citizen, or permanent resident of Australia).

International students may apply for this scholarship only if undergraduate studies were undertaken at The University of Sydney.

The Scholarship is valued at $7,000 to be paid during the recipient's honours year. It is open to all students enrolling in an honours program under the administration of the Business School in 2015. Selection is based on the best thesis proposal complementing the theme of 'Innovation and Entrepreneurship - New Thinking and practice'.

Westbrook and Jessie Anstice International Travel Scholarship

The Westbrook and Jessie Anstice International Travel Scholarship was established in 2009 by a joint donation from alumnus David Anstice and the University of Sydney Business School.

The Scholarship is valued at $5,000 to assist with travel expenses to an overseas seminar or conference to encourage students to advance learning of their own initiative in the areas of international business, innovation or entrepreneurship.

The scholarship is open to international and local, undergraduate coursework, undergraduate honours and postgraduate coursework students enrolled in a full time coursework program with the University of Sydney Business School at the time of the seminar or conference participation.
