Australia and New Zealand Quality and Accreditation Network (ANZQAN) Annual Meeting

The Australia and New Zealand Quality and Accreditation Network (ANZQAN) celebrates its 10th annual meeting at the University of Sydney Business School in 2017.

The objective of the annual meeting is to improve quality and accreditation practice through: 

  • sessions providing a deep dive into key quality and accreditation issues
  • interactive sessions on current practices like assurance of learning, and tips, tricks, pitfalls around preparing self-assessment reports and managing peer review visits
  • opportunities to network.  

By popular demand the program includes the panel session with business school PVCs/Executive Deans/Deans is back again this year. We have Professor Sonia Mazey (University of Canterbury), Professor Peter Wolnizer (Macquarie Graduate School of Management), Professor Chris Earley (University of Technology Sydney), and Professor Greg Whitwell (University of Sydney). Annie Lo from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and Professor Ulrich Hommel from the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) will be presenting and participating.  For more detail on these and other sessions see the program below. 

EFMD are running a separate satellite event on 29th November (10am to 4pm) on the impact and engagement challenge. Held also at the University of Sydney Business School, ANZQAN 2017 participants can receive a discount to the EFMD event. For more information, visit the EFMD Global Network website.

Attendees: deputy deans, associate deans, directors and managers from schools that are accredited or seeking accreditation with bodies like AACSB, EFMD and the Association of MBAs.

Registration

This year we have again kept the cost to as small as possible. There is a $325 registration fee that will cover the welcome event, the dinner and associated lunches and morning teas with an early bird rate of $275 (until 20th October). Please click here to register.

Travel

If you travelling by public transport in Sydney, you will require an Opal card

If you are travelling by train, the nearest station is Redfern station which is approximately 12-14 min walk from the Business School.

If you are travelling by bus, you will need to alight on City Road, Darlington. Here is a link to the Sydney Buses network.

Parking

Parking in the vicinity of the Business School is fairly limited.

There are paid parking spots in Shepherd Street carpark (8 mins walk to Business School), and in two smaller carparks on campus near the Merewether Building.

There is some all-day street parking on Wilson Street near Carriageworks (5 mins walk to Business School), but spaces are limited.

Street parking in the area is mostly restricted to 1 or 2 hours.

Accommodation

Attendees coming from out of Sydney will pay for their own travel and accommodation. The following hotels are within walking distance of the Business School: 

  • Adina Apartments Chippendale – these apartments are approximately 8 minutes walk from the Business School
  • Quality Apartments Camperdown  – these apartments are approximately 15 minutes walk from the Business School and approximately 10 walk to the    main street in Newtown.
  • The Urban Newtown – this hotel is approximately 20 minutes walk from the Business School but is near to restaurants and bars.
  • Mercure Sydney – this hotel is near Central    Railway Station and 3 kilometres from the Business School
  • Rydges Sydney Central –  this hotel is near Central Railway Station and 3 kilometres from the Business School

Alternatively, if you would prefer accommodation nearer to Sydney City, you can have a look on booking.com. If you type in University of Sydney, it will provide the distance from the University.
