Course Career Options

Master of Commerce

The Commerce program has a specialist in focus while still covering a broad range of study. It develops the advanced skills and knowledge required for a high-level position in industry, commerce and government. Credit for previous study may be granted for up to four foundation units.

This degree program prepares you for positions in accounting, marketing or other specialist fields, but also gives you a thorough understanding of commerce for use in many business fields. Practising Accountants who already have an undergraduate accounting qualification or major can study advanced units in professional accounting.

Master of Professional Accounting

This program provides knowledge, understanding and expertise in the range of disciplines appropriate to professional accountancy to students with little or no previous study in the accounting field. Credit for previous study may be granted for up to four foundation units.

Our graduates look forward to employment in (and eventually, formation of their own) accounting practices; also to roles as chief financial officers, chief information officers, financial controllers, company secretaries, financial analysts and planners, tax and estate advisers, financial and management accountants, auditors, system designers, investment advisors and managers.

Master of and Human Resources Management and Industrial Relations

This course provides high level training in HRM&IR and a specialised qualification for those engaged in, or contemplating careers in, industrial relations, human resource management and related areas.

The skills and content derived from these programs provide a foundation for careers in traditional IR organisations such as unions, employer bodies and government as well as in HRM, research, policy development, consultancy work, industrial law and many aspects of private and public sector management.

Master of Management

In an increasingly competitive market, you need an extra advantage to get the right start in your chosen career. That's why you should consider supplementing your existing degree with the Master of Management degree, a 12-month pre-experience program that will equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary for a career in management in your chosen field.

The Master of Management degree supplements your existing degree and management skills to help you to work at the top level in your chosen field and actually use your knowledge to be successful.

Master of Management (CEMS)

CEMS, the Global Alliance in Management Education, is a highly prestigious alliance of leaders in business and higher education. It offers one of the world???s two highest ranked Master of Management programs (Financial Times 2011). This program is exclusively offered in Australia by the University of Sydney Business School, the only Australian business school (and the first non-European institution) to be admitted as a member of CEMS. The Master of Management (CEMS) is an 18 month pre-experience degree.

In an increasing global environment The Master of Management (CEMS) degree supplements your existing degree as well as giving you international experience and cultural diverse experience. As part of the CEMS program you will spend one or two semesters at a top overseas university, where you will complete a business project with a leading international company, an opportunity that will open doors for you worldwide.

Master of International Business

Globalisation of business, trade and finance are reshaping national economies. In order to take full advantage of these and other influences on the business world, modern business practitioners need a thorough understanding of international business. Credit for previous study may be granted for up to four foundation units.

Our graduates pursue roles such as export and import manager, international strategy manager, government officer - Department of Foreign and Trade Affairs, international management consultant, international travel manager, consultant: United Nations.

Master of International Business & Law

Issues of international trade are of great importance to business professionals around the world. This program provides invaluable knowledge of the legal framework within which businesses operate, from taxation to employment law. Students develop skills in risk assessment, compliance and legal troubleshooting.

An ideal entry path for those seeking to broaden their career into international trade, taxation law and other related fields. There are a wide range of career options open to graduates who combine specialist knowledge of business law with studies in business, accounting, marketing, economics, finance or government.

Master of Logistics Management

The Logistics Management programs provide training in the field of logistics and supply chain management, with a particular emphasis on management and operations.

Master of Transport Management

The Transport Management programs provide training in the field of transport with particular emphasis on management and planning. Graduate Certificate in Innovation and Enterprise

The innovation and enterprise program is designed to develop commercially aware and empowered entrepreneurs.The course ensures participants gain valuable skills and know-how in commercialisation processes and activities, intellectual property management, financial management, project management, market research, teamwork and presentations.
