Colin Farrell

Discipline of Marketing

Colin Farrell completed a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of New South Wales majoring in Marketing and Hospitality Management. He has worked in a management role at Canterbury-Hurlstone Park RSL Club and also completed management consulting and market research for hospitality based firms under his own business name. This led to his current employment at Russell Corporate Advisory (RCA) as a management and research consultant for the hospitality industry. Whilst completing his undergraduate degree in marketing he became increasingly interested into how consumers behave and what makes them choose certain activities or products.

"I am a part-time student in the Discipline of Marketing and generally I do the majority of my work off-campus. I work closely with my supervisor who has been very supportive and encouraging, as well as understanding of my other work commitments but I have most enjoyed the interactions I have had with students and academic staff at seminars or meetings. The PhD course is a long journey and it is very rewarding when I get feedback at certain stages on my progress after submitting papers for publication, especially when they are accepted".
