Thesis working title

Organizational structure, process and innovation outcomes

Carl proposes that a persistent focus on the macro-environment, absent a better understanding of the mechanisms at play at an organizational level, is a reason for the persistent inability of Australian technology firms to convert innovation capability into innovative outputs. His research examines innovation organization archetypes and how these archetypes are differentiated in terms of their antecedents – strategy, organizational structure, performance metrics and decision making – to determine whether nuances in the operationalization of these antecedents within the context of organizational archetype, offer predictive patterns indicating different probabilities of successful innovation outcomes.
