Emma has had extensive industry experience. She has held various roles including: strategy consultant, product development and management, corporate strategy development and maintenance in the banking and retail financial services sector in Australia.

Emma has a keen interest in the not-for-profit sector and is currently serving on the boards of two NGOs as a non-executive director.

Emma's research interests include: institutional impacts on firm behavior, international business strategy, and corporate governance.

In 2016 Emma completed her masters thesis “Galbraith on Target” which unpacked the question: How can a corporation continue to pay shareholder dividends when posting a $1.6bn loss?

Emma’s thesis investigates the internationalization process of NGOs and the institutional influences bearing on the process of internationalization.
