Josh Della Vedova is a PhD researcher and Post Graduate Research Fellow in the finance discipline at The University of Sydney Business School.

His research interests include behavioural finance, in particular, individual investor decision making and the role of momentum in financial markets.

Previous to joining the University, Josh held positions in both the corporate and public sector. This included roles in accounting, wealth management and corporate advisory.

Josh earned his Bachelor of Science in psychology and Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) in finance from the University of Wollongong.

Behavioural drivers of momentum

Joshua’s research investigates momentum in financial markets. It suggests momentum is driven in part by behavioural bias – loss aversion and anchoring which is determined by both past performance and the relative proximity to an available reference point, the 52-week high.
