Bio

Tamara is the recipient of the The University of Sydney & TOP Education Institute PhD Research Scholarship 2015. Tamara is a lawyer graduated from The University of Chile and holds a Master’s Degree in International Business and Law in The University of Sydney (Becas Chile Scholarship). Tamara specialized in Chinese Law & Legal Systems in ECUPL in Shanghai (2013) and was awarded The Confucius Institute Scholarship, Shanghai in 2014.

Tamara has over nine years of industry experience working in Law firms in Chile, Australia and China. Her research interest in China motivated her to pursue a doctoral degree looking at the commercial relationship between China and Australia. Tamara is course coordinator for Global Management and Culture in the Master of International Business Program, Sessional Lecturer and tutor. Profoundly inspired to promote and help social change for disadvantaged communities, Tamara works pro bono as President of Heartdancers Charity in Australia.


Thesis working title

Integration in Agribusiness industry between Australian and Chinese firms

Considering that the bilateral commercial relation between Australia and China is key for the Australian economy, Tamara’s research project focus is on looking at sustainable business cooperation between Australian and Chinese companies particularly in the agribusiness sector. Through a qualitative case study based research, it aims to explore the integration process between Australian and Chinese firms and assess the impacts in this process of the Free Trade Agreement (ChAFTA).
