Professor Corinne Mulley and Claudine Moutou attended the International Association of the History of Transport Traffic and Mobility in Madrid in November 2012. One of their papers (Mulley and Moutou) 'The transport success in providing for the Olympics in Sydney, Australia: Why was this not captured in future policy for public transport.' won the Dr Cornelis Ley Prize for the best paper combining history and policy. This prize is sponsored by the Dutch agency Rijkswaterstaat, related to the Ministry for Infrastructure and Sustainability, and honours the three-times Waterstaat minister and drainer of the Dutch Zuiderzee, civil engineer Dr Cornelis Lely. The other paper (Moutou and Mulley) was titled 'Exhibits of business power: Case-studies of business reactions to projects designed to enhance intermodal connectivity of their trading locations.'
