Frederic Horst has a wide range of experience in the aviation, air cargo and logistics sectors, and has held senior roles with Qantas Airways, Veolia Environmental Services, DHL Aviation and Cargolux Airlines. Frederic is based in Sydney and currently manages his own specialised aviation and freight transport strategy advisory firm with expertise in regulatory and environmental advice, market research, as well as airline network and fleet planning and optimization. Since returning to Australia, Frederic was Manager Government and International Relations at Qantas, and responsible for a wide range of regulatory issues, both nationally and internationally. Before joining Qantas, he worked for Veolia Environmental Services Australia as a national project officer with responsibility for identifying and implementing synergies and improving performance across the company's waste management business. Previously, he held the position of Director Regulatory Affairs at DHL Aviation in Brussels/Bonn, where he was responsible for aeropolitical, environmental and other aviation regulatory matters. He also held the position of Intercontinental Network Planning Manager in the same company. Prior to joining DHL, he worked for Cargolux Airlines, a Luxembourg based all cargo carrier operating a fleet of Boeing 747-400 freighters. At Cargolux, he was responsible for key account development and business planning, as well as being involved in market research, fleet planning, and some business related crew training projects. Frederic has also worked as a Consultant for MergeGlobal, a Washington, D.C. based strategy consulting company focused on freight transportation, and after that was involved in a number of projects at the Institute of Transport and Logistics Studies. He has a Master of Transport Management from the University of Sydney and completed undergraduate studies in business at the University of Dusseldorf. Frederic teaches International Freight Transportation in the graduate program.
