Bio

Dr Mohsen Reisi is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Institute of Transport and Logistics Studies. Mohsen’s academic background is in the area of Operations Research with applications in Scheduling, Production Planning, and Supply Chain Management. Mohsen completed his PhD in 2015 on optimising throughput in the Hunter Valley Coal Chain, which is largest coal chain in the world, using Integer Programming techniques. His PhD research was mainly based at the University of Newcastle with collaborators from CSIRO and Hunter Valley Coal Chain Coordinator. Mohsen also holds a Master of Operations Research and a Bachelor of Applied Mathematics. Before joining the University of Sydney, he was a casual lecture at the University of Newcastle lecturing Mathematical Modelling and Operations Research from 2014.

Mohsen is part of the ARC Centre for Food and Beverage Supply Chain Optimisation, which is led by Professor Behnam Fahimnia at the University of Sydney. His primary areas of research focus are:

  1. Behavioural operations and supply chain management: to analyse human intervention in operation and supply chain management which includes both individual decision making and interaction of decisions within the supply chain.
  2. Supply chain optimization: to mathematically model complex supply chain problems and develop solution algorithms to analyse supply chain effectiveness and efficiency under different scenarios.
