Richard's work background is in Information Systems, primarily in the area of design and development of back-end information systems and networks for small and medium sized companies. This includes the development and design of an inventory management system and various web-based back-end systems. His undergraduate degree is in Information Systems with a focus on enterprise systems. Having completed a Master of Logistics Management as well as a major in Transport Management as part of a Master of Commerce (with Business Information Systems), he entered the MPhil/PhD programme in transport at ITLS in March 2010. His area of research is understanding dynamic responses to mitigation policies of road freight emissions. His supervisors are Associate Professor Stephen Greaves and Professor David Hensher. He has been involved in several projects at ITLS including the development of a web-based GPS/GPRS prompted-recall survey under the supervision of Associate Professor Stephen Greaves and ITLS' land use, transport and environment strategy simulator (TRESIS) with Professor David Hensher and Professor Michiel Bliemer.
