Richard's work background is in Information Systems, primarily in the area of design and development of back-end information systems and networks for small and medium sized companies. This includes the development and design of an inventory management system and various web-based back-end systems. Work done at ITLS includes the development of a web-based GPS/GPRS prompted-recall survey under the supervision of Associate Professor Stephen Greaves. His undergraduate degree is in Information Systems with a focus on enterprise systems. Having completed a Master of Logistics Management as well as a major in Transport Management as part of a Master of Commerce (with Business Information Systems), he entered the MPhil/PhD programme in transport at ITLS in March 2010. His area of research is the modelling of policy-induced changes in freight vehicle externalities. His supervisors are Associate Professor Stephen Greaves and Dr Sean Puckett.
