Attendance & payment guidelines

This page provides information about the changes to the payment of tutors and staff who attend the Tutor Development Program, which came into effect from Semester 2, 2013.

Compulsory attendance guidelines for the TDP
The three different groups of tutors (relating to TDP attendance) are:

New Tutors


(i.e., those tutors who are either new to tutoring OR new to tutoring within the Business School).

Returning Tutors: Not attended


(i.e., those tutors who have not completed each of the three compulsory TDP modules in the Business School).

Returning Tutors: Completed TDP attendance


(i.e., those tutors who have already attended at least three compulsory TDP modules in the Business School).

Attendance requirements for each of the three groups are:

You are required to attend the three compulsory modules of the TDP (i.e., Modules 1, 4, and 5).

You are highly encouraged to attend all TDP modules, and Lunch-N-Learns.

You are required to attend compulsory modules you have not yet completed, (i.e., Modules 1, 4, and 5).


You are highly encouraged to attend any TDP modules. You are welcome to all Lunch-N-Learns.

You are highly encouraged to attend any TDP modules on topics that you have not previously attended.


You are welcome to all Lunch-N-Learns.

Payment guidelines for participating in the TDP modules and other initiatives

The payment for each of the three groups is:

You are paid for all TDP modules and Lunch-N-Learns you attend. You are paid for your participation in any modules on topics that you have not previously attended. You are also paid for your attendance in any Lunch-N-Learns. You are paid for your participation in any modules on topics that you have not previously attended. You are also paid for your attendance in any Lunch-N-Learns.
Only staff on current tutor contracts can be paid to attend TDP.
