Research

The Discipline of Marketing is one of the leading Marketing research groups in the region. Areas of expertise include consumer decision-making and behaviour, international marketing and consumer culture. The Discipline embraces a range of research paradigms, making use of experimental design, quantitative modelling, surveys, and various qualitative interpretive techniques.
Many members of the Discipline publish in top tier journal publications, sit on editorial review board memberships, and win research awards. The Discipline has a PhD program and an Honours program.

Our research benefits from strong links with business, professional associations, government and not-for-profit organisations. This has resulted in research grants, consultancy projects and other forms of engagement that have ensured that our research is relevant as well as of the highest academic standards.

In 2006, The Discipline established e+b media, an audio-visual production unit.  Since the e+b media's inception, it has become a major producer of educational videos distributed throughout Australasia and The Unites States. These videos cover fields such as accounting, biotechnology, information systems, business statistics, engineering, human resource management, law, marketing, mathematics, sustainability and tourism.  The unit has won 6 international awards for their video-ethnographies and documentaries. Their most recent wins are the 2010 Jury 1st Prize and People? Choice Awards at The Association for Consumer Research Conference, USA for a documentary entitled Walk the Talk, produced in conjunction with The Norwegian School of Business Administration and Economics.  Learn more about e+b media.
