Course Structure

The Master of Management is designed for students who have recently graduated from an undergraduate degree (with at least a credit (65%) average), who do not necessarily have any relevant work experience and are looking for a broad-based, internationally focused management education that will equip them for a career in management.

To complete the Master of Management, you have to complete a total of 10 units of study (60 credit points) consisting of eight specifically designed core units (48 credit points) and a compulsory business project (which is the equivalent of 12 credit points).

The Master of Management can be taken on a full time or part time basis.

Students taking the degree on a full time basis are encouraged to take four units of study per semester making the duration of the degree two semesters, plus a six week Business Project (1 calendar year).

Students taking the degree on a part time basis are encouraged to take two units of study per semester making the duration of the degree four semesters, plus a six week Business Project (2½ calendar years).

If you are admitted in the Master of Management (CEMS) degree we will help you design an individual program of study which will help you complete the CEMS MIM requirements.

The Master of Management (CEMS)

The Master of Management (CEMS) has been specifically designed to make it possible for students to complete the prestigious CEMS MIM program as part of their degree. The MMgt (CEMS) is a 72 credit point degree and requires three semesters of full time study. At least one of these semesters has to be spent on exchange studying in a Master of Management program at one of our CEMS Members

If your first degree is in a business related area you can apply for direct entry into the MMgt(CEMS). The program of study for the CEMS degree will consist of a mixture of Master of Management units of study offered at the University of Sydney and units of study offered at CEMS partner institutions in their Master of Management programs.

Please note there is only one intake per year to the Master of Management(CEMS) program and this is the first semester of each year.
