The Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Sydney will be the major sponsor of the inaugural 2009 NSW Rowing Association (NSWRA) YOUTH DAY Regatta to be held on Saturday 7th February.
The event forms part of the two-day NSW State Rowing Championships Regatta at the Sydney to be held at the International Regatta Centre, Penrith.
The regatta will see male and female junior teams compete for the first time on the one day and will involve an impressive array of high-level rowing as well as single and double scull races.
The program of events continues on Sunday for the senior participants providing a full weekend of racing opportunities for school crews.
Professor Peter Wolnizer, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, said the Faculty has a proud tradition of supporting sporting excellence.
"This is the second year the Faculty has been involved with sponsoring NSW Rowing and we are delighted this relationship has evolved to YOUTH DAY," he said. "We are passionate supporters of undergraduates and graduates involved in sporting activities whether at club, interstate or international level and we're looking forward to seeing some stars of the future emerge during the day."
