Accounting Master Class 2010
02 Sep 2010
The Master Class series, which was launched in 2009 by The Discipline of Accounting and The University of Sydney Accounting Foundation, follows the format traditionally presented in theatrical and entertainment industries. Two 90-minute classes are presented by a 'Master' and a 'Student' and an interactive forum follows with time set aside for a questions and answer session.
The professors will coach two University of Sydney PhD students Matthew Egan and Ron Day on stage in front of the live audience.
Matthew Egan, who is presenting his thesis on Water Management in Australia said it is not often that students get the opportunity to participate in a forum of this nature. "I am looking forward to hearing from the Professors and gaining insight into how to turn my research into a draft paper that will hopefully one day be published in an academic journal or presented at a conference."
After the Master Class Matthew and Ron will have the opportunity to revise their papers before having them reviewed by Mr. Carl Harrison-Ford, senior academic, Abacus copy editor, freelance writer, and occasional University 'Writer in Residence'. Carl will ensure that their work meets the standards of a recognised top-tier journal.
