Economics and Business Graduates Have A Ball!
09 Dec 2010
For many, the E&B Society's Graduation Ball marked the end of a journey through university. For others it was simply a chance to breathe a sigh of relief that exams were finished and officially kick off summer vacation.
More than 80 students and staff members attended the inaugural E&B Society Graduation Ball which was supported by the Faculty of Economics and Business and held at the picturesque Sydney Harbour venue, Doltone House.
The E&B society is an active student-led organisation that all economics and business students are entitled to be a member of.
Students were greeted with champagne and canapes on the balcony, allowing them a chance to catch-up and celebrate their achievements throughout their time at University.
After a warm welcome from the MC, Associate Professor Suzanne Jamieson from the Discipline of Work and Organisational Studies, student leader Shae Bannister spoke fondly of her time at university. She relived her days studying a Bachelor of Economics and more recently completing Honours in International Business.
While attendees were treated to a three course meal, Professor of Marketing, Charles Areni, and Professor of Finance, Alex Frino entertained the crowd with a lesson on the importance of integrity in the business world.
Nigel Smith, faculty Student and Academic Services Manager said; "the night was a huge success. It is such a great opportunity to really celebrate a milestone and reminisce on all the good times the students have had throughout their time at Sydney. We are really looking forward to making this an annual event."
A presentation of lucky door prizes, including an Apple iPad concluded the formalities. Students then led the way on the dance floor where they let their hair down and joined together to celebrate with their peers well into the night.
