Acting Dean, Professor Tyrone Carlin addresses High school students at the Focus on Business Seminar
A select group of Sydney high school students this week attended a special lecture on campus presented by the Acting Dean of the University of Sydney Business School, Professor Tyrone Carlin. Now in its third year, the Focus on Business lecture series aims to provide Year 12 Business Studies students with an overview of their HSC topic areas. It also allows students to experience the dynamics of a real university lecture - taking in not only the expertise of our leading academics, but also allowing them the opportunity to explore and experience the university campus itself.
Students were provided with a number of interesting case studies to examine within the hour long lecture. The interactivity of this session allowed them to utilise the knowledge and skills they have acquired through their HSC Business Studies curriculum, and was a first-hand opportunity to show them what studying business will be like at the University of Sydney Business School.
Feedback for this event was again very encouraging with students appreciative of the additional perspective this session provided for their HSC study preparation.
