A taste of Business School life at Sydney
11 Jan 2012
As part of the University's 2012 Info Day, hundreds of enthusiastic high school students came to campus to discuss undergraduate course options and discover what student life is like while studying at the University of Sydney Business School.
For many 2011 HSC students excited about the prospect of beginning university, Info Day was an opportunity to discuss course choices one-on-one, attend mini-lectures and learn to navigate campus while soaking up the atmosphere of university life before finalising their UAC preferences.
Students had a chance to meet leading Business School academics and learn about the opportunities afforded by the Business School majors from representatives of each discipline. The students also heard words of wisdom from current Business School students who answered questions about studying Business and shared knowledge on the many aspects of the university's academic and social life.
The business-minded students were given a taste of university learning in a mini-lecture held at the Eastern Avenue Auditorium. Students intently listened to a passionate address from Acting Dean of the Business School, Professor Tyrone Carlin, who explained course options, the international reputation and accreditations of the Business School, the range of support services and the industry and global opportunities available to undergraduate students.
Business School student ambassador, Margaret Zhang, who features in the new Undergraduate promotional video that was launched to students on Info Day, also addressed the prospective students. She emphasised that the Business School facilitates students' passions and diverse goals beyond their degree. She said: "It was fantastic to share my university experiences with the bright young minds who are looking forward to joining the Business School community."
