Emerging Leaders gather in Sydney
09 Nov 2012
More than 100 people attended the latest AFR BOSS Magazine Emerging Leaders Program event on 7 November in Sydney, to hear an address by Cliff Rosenberg, Managing Director of LinkedIn Australia.
Rosenberg offered timely and interesting insight into the need for building a professional business brand, and how to showcase leadership qualities for career development.
Those present at the event made the most of the opportunity to network with industry leaders and mentors, as well as University of Sydney Business School alumni and academics. The event highlighted the benefits of the Emerging Leaders Program, and gave those present the chance to learn more about the range of educational programs offered by the Business School.
Professor Richard Hall, Associate Dean of Management Education at the Business School also addressed the event, discussing US President Barack Obama's recent election win in the swing-state of Ohio through his authentic and engaging leadership style.
"The Business School is a proud partner of the Emerging Leaders Program," Professor Hall said. "AFR BOSS focuses on re-inventing leadership, and at the same time the Business School is re-imagining the MBA. There is a tremendous synergy between the two brands, in thought leadership, relevance and the delivery of high quality insight into the world of business for tomorrow's leaders."
"We are looking forward to the continuation of our close association with AFR BOSS," Professor Hall continued. "That partnership has resulted in the first MBA scholarship for one person in the inaugural cohort, whose MBA journey begins in February 2013."
