Emerging Leaders MBA Scholarship announced
13 Aug 2012
Financial Review Boss magazine has marked the launch of the University of Sydney Business School's new MBA program by announcing a major new scholarship, valued at $60,000, to attend the Business School and complete the new MBA program.
The selection process is as rigorous as it is enlightening, and will take place over four rounds. The first round is performed through an online self-assessment tool called Prospective Assessment, developed by world leaders in talent and recruitment, Korn/Ferry International.
The tool is geared towards providing insight for emerging leaders into their strengths, and weaknesses, and potential suitability for the upper echelons of management.
"The MBA scholarship promotion has been designed as a learning experience for everyone who enters," explains Financial Review Boss magazine editor Narelle Hooper. "Simply by completing the entry requirements, everyone who puts in an entry will receive a helpful look into their own qualities. From your ability to communicate and relate to others, through to innovating and making complex decisions - the Prospective Assessment is a great tool for analysing how you see yourself as a future leader."
The prize also includes the opportunity to be fully assessed by Korn/Ferry International, attend a Master Class with some of Australia's pre-eminent leadership educators, receive media training from the Australian Financial Review and have an opinion piece published in the Financial Review Boss magazine.
The prizewinner will also receive membership to the AFR/Boss Emerging Leaders program, and attend a five-star lunch with some of Australia's top CEOs and business thought leaders.
"We are not simply looking for an academic achiever to receive this scholarship," said Associate Professor Nick Wailes, Director, MBA Programs. "The recipient will be someone who, we believe, is destined for great things in the world of business. We are looking for a true leading light - someone who will take this opportunity, make the absolute most of it and become a great leader in their field."
Applications will be judged by a panel of industry experts, and the winner of the scholarship announced prior to the commencement of Semester 1, 2013. For information on the scholarship and how to enter, please visit the scholarship website.
