Emerging Leaders receive an E-Image Master Class
22 Jun 2012
A 41-strong crowd of up and coming executive leaders received a timely lesson in social media, at the latest AFR BOSS Emerging Leaders event on 21 June, in Sydney.
The event, hosted by AFR BOSS Magazine and supported by the University of Sydney Business School, was an invitation-only evening, open to members of the Emerging Leaders Program.
Keynote speaker on the night was Dr Kristine Dery, Senior Lecturer in Work and Organisational Studies at the Business School. Kristine spoke of the necessity for young executives to embrace technology, and its place in the ongoing management of talent in the workforce.
The session also included an interactive workshop with Christine Bishop, Managing Director of Corporate Social Media, who specialises in the areas of social media, strategic marketing and business strategy. Christine's workshop provided a solid overview of the leading social networking platforms, along with a 12-step must-do list for young executives who are looking to build and maintain a positive "E-Image".
"Events like tonight's are a big part of the commitment by the Business School to helping emerging leaders with their rise through the ranks in the workplace," said Professor Richard Hall, Associate Dean, Management Education at the Business School. "Our association with AFR BOSS and the Emerging Leaders Program provides the perfect platform for alumni and mentoring support, and has helped to strengthen our ties to industry at the same time."
