Fair Work Australia Act under the microscope at the Business School

Leading experts and practitioners in the field of labour law will gather to debate key issues at the 20th Annual Labour Law Conference in Sydney, on Monday 13 August.
The conference, an initiative that is jointly hosted by the Business School's Workplace Research Centre and the Sydney Law School, will feature a variety of speakers, including International keynote speaker Mia Ronmar, Professor in Private Law / Labour Law at Lund University, Sweden and Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Comparative Labour Law and Industrial Relations.
The 2012 conference will also see the debut of a one-hour Q&A session, focusing on "Australian Labour Law: Current Issues and Future Reform" with key Labour Law Experts including Ron McCallum, Emeritus Professor, Sydney Law School, University of Sydney. Professor McCallum is one of the three experts conducting the Fair Work Act Review for the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR), a topic that will undoubtedly arise during the course of the Q&A.
Other panelists include Andrew Stewart, John Bray Professor of Law, University of Adelaide; Anthony Forsyth, Associate Professor, Department of Business Law and Taxation, Monash University; John Buchanan, Director, Workplace Research Centre, Business School, University of Sydney; Giri Sivaraman, Principal, Maurice Blackburn Lawyers and Employment & Industrial Law expert and Russell Lansbury, Emeritus Professor, Business School, University of Sydney (Chair).
