Finance Team rides to The Gong for MS
06 Nov 2012
A team from the University of Sydney Business School Discipline of Finance has conquered the annual Sydney to the Gong charity bicycle ride, which has raised more than $3 million for Australians living with Multiple Sclerosis in 2012.
Team captain, Professor Alex Frino, led an enthusiastic cohort of riders that included Professor and Discipline of Finance Chair Michael McKenzie, Adjunct Associate Professor Paul Martin, Lecturers Angelo Aspris and Danika Wright, and PhD student Sean Foley.
This is the third time the Discipline of Finance has fielded a team for the Sydney to the Gong ride, and covered the 90km course at a reported 'leisurely pace', arriving in Wollongong without major incident.
The Sydney to the Gong Ride is organised by MS Australia, an organization that is devoted to raising awareness and funds to assist Australians who are living with MS, as well as education and research projects. MS is a disease of the central nervous system that affects more young Australians than any other neurological condition.
Donations are still being accepted at the Sydney to the Gong Ride website.
