Students and Business School Alumni Connect over Cocktails in the CBD.
29 May 2013
More than 160 alumni and staff and students gathered in the Business School's new CBD campus for the latest Connect over Cocktails event, on Wednesday 22 May.
Hosted by Professor David Grant, Co-Dean of the Business School, the event provided the perfect opportunity to come together and network, catch up with what's happening at the Business School and admire the new, purpose-designed CBD facility in Castlereagh Street.
The highlight of the event was an "in conversation" interview with Business School alumnus Richard Freudenstein (BEc '86 LLB '88), CEO and Managing Director of Foxtel. The interview was performed by Sky News Business anchor Brooke Corte, who quizzed Richard on his career path and the current media landscape, with a particular focus on recent innovations in television and digital media.
"This evening's event showcased the importance of having such a strong and vibrant alumni community," said Professor Grant. "I was very pleased to see such a large number of people in attendance. It was a wonderful opportunity to update our alumni on the many new and exciting educational activities that the Business School is presently engaged in.It also enabled us to unveil our brand-new CBD campus to those alumni that had not previously had the chance to visit us here."
"The CBD campus enables us to deliver our new MBA along with our other Executive Education offerings in a state-of-the art purpose fitted facility," Professor Grant continued. "It also provides a location that is ideal for busy professionals to gravitate to and which we can use for City focused events that enhance our engagement with the business community."
