Business School alumni network in China
20 Mar 2013
More than 100 University of Sydney Business School alumni have gathered in China for two professional networking events. Held in Beijing and Shanghai, the events provided an opportunity for Business School alumni based in China to catch up with old friends, strengthen their business network and be brought up to speed on what's happening at the Business School.
The keynote speaker on both evenings was Professor Hans Hendrischke, Professor of Chinese Business and Management and Director of the University of Sydney China Studies Centre, who spoke on the topic of "Chinese outward direct investment in Australia".
Professor Hendrischke recently completed a comprehensive study in association with KPMG, and released a widely-praised report into the topic of Chinese investment in Australia.
Also in attendance were Professor John Shields, Associate Dean (Postgraduate), Associate Professor Philip Seltsikas, Associate Dean (Undergraduate) and Ms Karen Leung, International Recruitment Manager.
The Beijing event, hosted by local alumnus Vincent Yang (MCom '11), who is currently working as an analyst for AIF Capital, drew a strong crowd of more than 60 alumni.
The Shanghai event drew a similar crowd, and was hosted by Geoffrey Tink (BA/BCom '08), National Events Specialist for Porsche (China) Motors Ltd.
The Business School Alumni Relations unit is planning on holding similar events in Shanghai and Beijing in the coming months. For more information, please visit the Alumni Events page.
